Default I'd like to introduce myself.

Greetings fellow Net54 members,

You may have seen me occasionally post, but I really just enjoy looking (and sometimes posting) in the pickups thread(s).

My name is Owen, I'm 13 years old (surprise, surprise) and live in England (but I visit America a lot, as my family lives there). I enjoy collecting baseball cards, especially T206's and building my 1955 Topps set. I will be attending my first National this year (less than a month ) and I look forward to seeing all of you! Thank you for your hospitality so far, and I look forward to seeing you all around!

~Owen

I just made my first YouTube video, if you have a few minutes you may learn something new https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYwGm3btMsc

Default Awesome!

Hey Owen, it's great to see you're interested in vintage cards at such a young age. I wish I had done the same when I was your age, instead of buying boxes of 1991 Upper Deck baseball (I did pull an Aaron tho!).

Welcome to the board sir! Have fun at the nationals. I've sadly never been to one

Peace out,
Royce

Great looking start to your T206 collection. I went to my first National last year all I have to say is be prepared to be overwhelmed. So many cards, so little money. Have a great time, safe trip to Chicago, and welcome to the board.

Welcome Owen! It's always good to see the next generation appreciating a hobby we older folks hold so dear.

You will find a great group of folks here on '54. Do not ever be afraid to ask a question...the knowledge is here and we love sharing it.

Congratulations on your fine choice of hobbies,

Raymond

Owen thanks for sharing! You've made a great decision in your collecting preference. I too wish I had collected pre-war cards at your age instead of the boxes of 80's cards I have now. :-)

Nice video, Owen! I got my first T206 when I was about your age, and it's still in my collection 36 years later. I'll be at the National too (I live in Chicago), so maybe I'll see you there!

I watched the video, that's really cool. You certainly know a lot more history than I did at 13. Like the other commenters I wish I had spent my money on t206s and other pre-war cards instead of all those topps, donruss, and upper deck packs when I was your age.

Owen, I watched the video and I did learn some things. For instance, I didn't know that Doc White was a dentist. Plus, I found your British accent soothing. You will probably soon pass me in T206 cards. I only have 31 (all 30 Detroit Tigers + Eddie Cicotte, who was born in and briefly played for Detroit) but I have lots of different backs among the 31 cards. The only ones I don't have are Drum, Lenox, Uzit and Broadleaf and of course they are the toughies. I have all the other types plus a Coupon Type 1, which I feel should be considered a T206 back.

Anyhow, as a young teen, your interest in females is probably just beginning and what better way to kick off this special time in your life than by voting for your absolute favorite Old Judge/Gypsy Queen 1880's lady...

Take your time, look them over and vote. It's tough but you can only pick one!
