We all know we can trust PWCC sales to be true and honest actual sales.

Ask eBay what they think about that.

I assume the buyer meant to bid $2,020 but fat-fingered his bid.

eBay was jealous of PWCC's platform and wanted to smear a future competitor. Or something.

Forgive me if it's a stupid question as I'm not too familiar with this set, but is that staining on the back or is the color bleeding through the back of the card. I've seen some very clean on the reverse and some with what appears to be color bleeding through. Is the paper stock very thin on this set?

Leaf stock is pretty thick, but color can bleed through. Often, it is not actually ink bleeding through but ink from the sheet beneath it, from sheets being stacked before they were fully dry.

On this exact card, it is residue from the adhesive from when the card was in a scrapbook or similar. The spots of paper loss on the back, the colored marks, and the high grade front all indicate a card liberated from a scrapbook.

I see what you mean. It looks like the top of his cap is outlined on the back of the card but appears higher than the front.

paper loss, glue residue, and writing. Guess someone thinks they can fix it up. Of course you could damn near buy a PSA 8 for that price.

Who meant to bid 1900, obviously. You're a bit slow today, Peter.

Guys, you are missing the fact that it has a PWCC top 15% exceptional eye appeal sticker. $20k is a bargain!

Took the words right out of my mouth. Easily a 10x adjuster right there.

Default PWCC 48 Leaf Williams SGC 2

Looks incredibly nice. Maybe a 3x eye appeal to grade price ratio. But that is insane..

I would probably price it around a 5. So only about 17 grand off the mark

+1. Certainly could be two card doctors competing for a card they think they could turn into an 8+. Don’t be surprised if this shows up on BODA’s blowout thread in the future.

Guy posted on twitter how he bought this….so it seems like an actual sale, no matter how crazy it was.

I think the buyer just needed the card to paste in his scrapbook.

PWCC's shill bidder got a little carried away with their $19K bid, but it worked out. Good for them.
