Wow. Monday came and went, and nobody started a new thread - so here I go.

I am trying to build up my type card collection. I am looking for solid VG or better examples, or those already graded 50 or higher by SGC. I am most interested in E cards, E93, E95, E98, E101, E102, and E104. The objective (however disorganized) is to acquire as many higher-end examples - commons are fine, as I can. I have about 75 so far, and want to at least double that number this year (my resolution?). Anyway - if you have a nicer looking type card sitting around, maybe it's a duplicate, maybe not - and you want to discuss a price - PLEASE let me know.

Yes - this is a somewhat open-ended "need". The bottom line is this: I love to buy cards. Love, love, love it. If you have a sharp example, and I don't have it (and you don't want gold for it) I probably would be interested - so let me know. Pretty much ANYTHING pre-1920, although, I must admit, my 19th century collection is pretty "young".

A courtesy note to board members:

The January 24, 2003 www.MASStercards.com Internet Auction is NOW ONLINE and OPEN to BIDDING!

This month, the auction represents 20 lots of pre-1920 baseball premium cards, including cards from the T206, E92, E90-1, E98 and T205 series. We are featuring a beautiful T206 with the difficult HINDU brand cigarettes ad, and a number of type cards.

You will notice that our home page and auction pages have a whole new look to them. We think you will find the new pages equally functional to the old, and we hope you will like the new graphical look. We welcome your feedback.

As always, bidding will close at precisely 11:59:59 P.M., and the final day of bidding is January 24th, 2003. Pages are updated once or twice a day during the initial period of the auction, and more and more frequently in the closing days.

To start, visit: www.MASStercards.com

Offering a good home to low grade cards for my player collection. Your dog could have chewed on it as long as the face is unmarred and I can read the name on the card.

I forgot about this item completely until I opened a notebook (wife wanted a binder from the office, I forgot to bring it home, had to sacrifice a card binder to avoid indeterminate period of celibacy). Anyone wanna trade for it or buy it? Looks to be lightly trimmed on a border (uneven cut maybe??). I'm planning to list it on ebay at $15 and see where it goes if no one responds by Sunday morning.

Sell price: $15

Trades considered: exhibit cards, zeenuts, T206 and T205, boxing cards.

If interested, please email warshawlaw@aol.com.

I collect poses in the Old Judge set and would love to purchase or trade for ones that I need. I also collect Kalamazoo Bats and have an interest in any other pre-1900 cards with photos. Finally, I also collect period cards of Willie Keeler (damm you Scott!).
On the offer side I have MANY Old Judge duplicates to sell or trade. Please email me at curl777@aol.com if you wish to discuss any of these areas further.

Thanks---Jay

Hello all,

Just wanted to let the board know that I updated the prewar page of my website at http://www.piedmontcards.homestead.com and have added a few T-206's, some 1939-1946 Exhibits (including Joe DiMaggio, Hank Greenberg, Ernie Lombardi, and Ted Williams), a 1928 Exhibit Leon Goslin, a League Park (Cleveland) postcard, a Ted Williams postcard (that I think is auto'd - but I'm not sure), and some other misc. items. I am always looking to purchase or trade for T-206's on my want page. This material may end up on e-bay before the weekend is over, depending upon how motivated I am. Thanks,

Eric

As I've not bored the board with my ethnic quest lately, perhaps there's a new member or two who might be able to point me in the right direction for these obscurities: 1910 Tip-Top Dreyfuss (D322); 1914 Baltimore News Zinn; 1931-32 Four-on-One J. Goldman; 1933 Tattoo Orbit Levey (R305); 1936 World Wide Gum Weintraub (V355); 1937 Four-on-One Weintraub; and 1941 St. Louis Cards Nahem (W754). Thanks alot.

A little emulsion (the very topmost layer--not even paper- that carries the photo--missing lower right-=hand corner; half way up on left, a bump that Mark Macrae says is an air pocket, from the card having come partially unglued from the back and the owner repairing it less than perfectly. In other words, it's half rebacked, but with its own back (top part is snug and tight, and the picture is a fine one: register, contrast, everything).

Hello All,

Right now, for my T206 set, I am focusing on players who's cards appeared in the 150 Series only. My wantlist is as follow...

George Brown (Chicago)
Mordecai Brown (Throwing W/ Cubs On Chest)
Al Burch (Batting)
Mike Donlin (Fielding)
Johnny Evers (With Bat/ Cubs On Chest)
Harry Patee (Horizontal)
Barney Pelty (Horizontal)
Ed Reulbach (Glove Showing)

Any help in acquirring these cards is greatly appreciated. I am also looking for some of these cards with the rarer backs (Hindu, EPDG, Sovereign, etc.) THANKS!!!

I need the T205 Hoblitzell "no stats" to complete my set. G/VG would be fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks..Alan

Isn't there one of these in Barry Sloate's latest auction?

There is an SGC 40 copy in the auction. Hope the bidding doesn't get too crazy.

Next bid is already over $3K. I think the card will eventually go for between $8-9K if a bidding war ensues (which it probably will). I'd love to have it to complete my set (although I and most collectors consider it complete without it) but the price of this card is going to be A) to hard to conceal from the wifey and B) exceed my card stash of cash.
