Default Need Help on card found!

My wife was cleaning out my desk drawer and discovered a card that I purhcshed about 30yrs ago that was lost.

I know it is an Old Judge. It say Madden Boston. Any idea on value? Thank you!!

It's a great find in my opinion, I love finding lost cards. I wish it was a Detroit player, I would make an offer.

Your card is catalogued as 288-3 (3rd of 7 total poses). Outside of Madden's 6th pose that was issued in cabinet format only, each pose was first issued in 1887 with some re-issued in 1888, 1889, and 1890. Your example is an 1889 issue. Madden's cards are not considered that difficult. If the back is as clean as the front it might grade quite well. If it were to grade as high as SGC 60 - 80, it might be valued in the $350-$700 range. Back damage would reduce this estimate. Nice card, but unfortunately for you a rather common player and team. If it were a tough player/team, things like back damage wouldn't matter.

If it has some scrapes on the front I don't think it would be worth more than $150-$200. Still a nice card, though.
