Default George Burke Type I 1933 MLB All-Star Game National League team photos

I recently acquired two George Burke Type I team photos of the National League team from the 1933 Major League Baseball All-Star Game—the very first All-Star Game.

The clarity of these beautiful sepia prints are simply stunning. The players and coaches featured are legendary, 11 of whom later became Hall of Famers. I’m a bit gobsmacked that I was able to acquire these locally.

At least one of these will be made available for sale in the near future, but for now, I’m going to enjoy them.

Love those. Game was at Commisky, so that makes sense. Are the names listed below the photo hand written?

Default Nice photos

If you can poke around and find a Lon Warneke handwritten letter you may want to compare the handwriting. Google a Lon Warneke autograph and you can see the similarity between his writing of his last name in signature form and the "Warneke" identifier which appears on your photo. (I am assuming that the names are handwritten onto the piece and not printed within - I believe if printed within it would largely eliminate the possibility of it being Type I)

They are handwritten. Funny enough, the seller has three Warneke prints from the same game available, all inscribed and signed by Warneke. I’m considering getting them as well.

Attached is one of them available:

You were spot-on—I referenced some other Warneke-signed pieces, and I believe both team photos are inscribed by him.
