Time for a reminder that Old Cardboard Tournament #4 of the 2008 Texas Hold'em series is tomorrow evening (April 22) at 7:30 CST. For details, see http://www.oldcardboard.com/misc/poker/poker.asp.

Average participation so far this year has been just over two dozen players per tournament and we expect Tournament #4 to be about that many. The tournament is PokerStars #82504262; Registration Code for this event is w514w514. The series is geared exclusively to vintage baseball card collectors and all Net54 members are invited to participate. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thanks to all, and Good Luck.

Lyman

Pokerstars buy-in is $11. $10 goes to the prize pool.

The results for Tournament #4 (April) of the 2008 Texas Hold'em Series are now posted on the Old Cardboard website at http://www.oldcardboard.com/misc/poker/poker.asp. Thanks again to all for playing; it was great fun.

Congrats to collector Rob DeWolf of Westerville, OH, who has now advanced to the top of the Leaderboard for the 2008 Series. There is now a three-way tie (Jason Barden of New York City, Brett Hardeman of Austin, TX and Tom Morgan) for second place. With eight tournaments left in the 2008 series, the race is still wide open for all contestants.

The next tournament (fifth in the series) is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30 pm (20:30 Eastern). It is Tournament #85812288 on the PokerStars website. Password for registration is pc760rose.

Full details for the 2008 Series and Trophy Awards are also found at the above link. Email editor@oldcardboard.com with any questions.

My best to all, Lyman

It was a blast again! I just wish it would last longer than 10 minutes. My goal for the next tournament is to finish out of the basement.

Always fun to play in this tournament, especially finishing first last month and second this month .
Got knocked out on the river after leading with pair of jacks to pair of eights till the river when the winner hit his second pair .
See you guys next month, unless there is a Rangers Stanley Cup game on that night.

Whooo hooo! I have had Tuesday night classes since these things started and unable to participate. But not any more - those days are over. I def plan to try to jump into the next one.

Can I still do that even though it is midway through the series? And Lyman, can I email for a crash course in registering and paying the entry fee?

I will be anxious to try to knock Rob De off the throne. Understand that it's far more likely that I'll simply fall off the back end of the poker world unnoticed, but it's nice to at least imagine winning, no?

J

Definitely enjoyable as always!

I've made 4 out of 5 final tables (including the "demo" tournament), but only placed once.

Certainly, Joann. You can join in at anytime. The sign-up process is pretty well covered on the Old Cardboard website at http://www.oldcardboard.com/misc/poker/poker.asp. Feel free to email me (editor@oldcardboard.com) with any questions. Once you download and install the PokerStars software, email Steve Murray or myself if you need assistance in funding your account. Glad to see that you will be able to join us next month. --Lyman
