Default Ugliest Beater of a HOFer in your Collection

Figured I'd share this space filler while I still had it, as it is high atop my list of cards to replace in my near 33 Goudey set.

Got me to thinking, what other HOFers are out there that have been more than just "well loved" but downright abused....

Steve, the difference is that the OP says that his beater is atop his list of cards to be replaced; mine will be the last card that I own whenever I start thinning the pile.

I think Waddell and Bender both take first place. Manush and Cobb are a "Ty" with Ruth a distant third.....

This 1 of 1 is the only known 1955 Williams card with Preston Ward borders.

The quality of the workmanship of the re-edging process makes it very difficult to detect without a loupe.

It is unknown whether a Preston Ward card with Ted Williams borders exists, but one would think....................................

In comparison to the other "incredible" cards already shown in this thread, this Sam Rice rookie could be considered "Near Mint!"

I know these are not pre-war (my pre-war beaters aren't HOFers), but here are a couple of beat up post-war cards:

Hey guys, sorry for bringing up a slightly older post but this one appeals to me and I can actually participate in it. I've been out of the loop for a little while and am catching up a bit now.

Here is a T213-2 Coupon Jennings that resides in my collection. Enjoy.

the comically bad cards are pretty much my specialty. Picked this WaJo up from Rhett a few years back. Photo's just don't do it justice. I have plenty of other bad ones too. Just not many photo's on my comp at the moment..

I guess I'm in the minority in that I do not collect low-grade cards at all.

I do have a few raw cards that I will someday upgrade, but the lowest graded cards I own are a 1888 N162 King Kelly SGC-40, a couple of 1915 CJs, and a Leaf Virgil Trucks.

Default Horridnsby

Hey...it made it this far (80 years), so I guess I won't throw it out. By the way, the scan on the left is of the front of the card (the scans of the same card, just different scan image size).

I usually like my Hornsby cards with a little better visual appeal.

Well that didn't take very long -- but the Manush is no longer mine, sold off in favor of this nice clean copy:
