Default Spalding fielder trophy.

Did anyone see the Spalding fielder trophy on eBay the other day sell for over $5,000. Is that a normal price or high? I thought they normally go around $2,500-3,500???

Seemed rather strong in my opinion. Perhaps someone was finishing the set and was willing to pay whatever to get it??

They do normally sell for approx $3500. I put a stupid high snipe bid on it and someone had a bigger stupid snipe bid on it. I am looking to buy all these trophys save the one that I have so if you anyone is looking to sell one please let me know.

A snipe bid on the trophy is not a factor in this case. The purchaser is a advance collector. It's doesn't matter what the market says it's worth. If he wants it, he will win it.

Yep you're correct. I have seen him over pay many times. Like bid $1,500 for a bat only worth $400. Lol

The $1200 BIN offer was amusing. Prices for these trophies are on the rise as they have become harder to find. With higher prices we may see more of these free up from collections. 18 months ago I sold my Spalding "Fielder" trophy for my "what is your you do not want to sell it price". I wasn't in the market to sell, but I couldn't pass up the offer. I valued it a lot, but not as much as someone else, and three times what I had paid several years ago. No regrets as the money was put to very good use elsewhere, and now someone else can enjoy the trophy.

I will sell mine for the right price however do not want to ship them . I have 2 pitchers , and one of 1 each except no catcher. I know the no shipping makes it difficult for most but when you open a box to find a trophy in pieces you rethink shipping them.
