I notified the seller that the Old Judges he has up are fakes. Below is his response:

"Well That is not to fair of you accusing me of selling fake cards when you don't have then in hand. Just because they have writing on the back dose not mean that they are fakes. I Have seen many old judge cards with stamps, writing and so on on the back for sale on ebay and in person. I see that you are selling cards also and may not be real so I guess I should also go forward with this. If you feel that the card are no good for you then don't bid but others may like what they see and when they get there card if there unhappy I will refund them."

Except that they're the same cards, with the exact same writing on the back, that grandaughterno1 was peddling several months ago before she was appropriately NARU'ed. And the buyer of his '33 Goudey Ruth was certainly unhappy with the fake he received, as can be seen in the seller's feedback - I wonder if he got a refund?

These "cards" speak for themselves.

"twistedfan" has had some really valuable 19th century cards up over the last few months (another n172 anson, an n162 anson, a couple n172 radbourns, among other things), and while the cards are going quite a bit under 'market value' (his last anson went for $1150ish), they are going for a reasonable amount. I kind of assumed that since he was only selling these cards, and appeared out of nowhere, that they might be questionable, but a lot of 'good guys' seemed to be bidding on those cards.

any experiences? some of the past cards were much less obvious (if they were in fact fake) than this one.
