...on this auction:

What does the P.N.U. stand for? I haven't seen those "initials" in an auction before. And, while we're here...opinions on the card?

Dan,

I thinkt that he meant P.N.Y. for Pitcher, New York.

...I hadn't even thought of that. Too much Pinot Noir and east coast sun on the beach...it's blurring my thought processes! I see the auction has been updated, and now it mentions paper loss on the back, too. I thought at first it might be a bad scan of a flash photo...bummer, the front of the card presents well. I wish so many kids hadn't glued cards into things!!!

Talk about something vintage (not cards, but this very era...) I visited Kitty Hawk and the site of the Wright Bros today. Very damm cool. What an amazing, courageous feat those guys mastered... And, it was right when Christy was pitching in Polo Grounds. Wouldn't it have been something else to go back in time and see all this history happening?

Today, just to sit and imagine what it was like...

I used to own it, and I swear, he looked a lot better. I need a portrait, a Crackerjack or an Allegheny (lots of luck!). Any other portraits?

I have the T206, white cap, and all the Mathewsons in the T202 set (they're just like the T205s, as far as the pictures are concerned)--they're a bunch, since the set was celebrating the Athletics-Giants World Series of--1912? (Boy, that better be right.)

I do have duplicates at home. I'm in Raleigh NC right now, and I fly back to Seattle on Mon Oct 7. We can chat then, and I have a couple T-206 portraits for you to choose form that you'll like I'm sure...every one I have presents very nicely (and they're all graded, so at least you know what you're getting...) And, I can send you scans. We can talk then...
