Default 19*09 Pir*ates Supp*lement?

I have a friend that is offering this to me in trade. I like the piece but know nothing about it. I have only seen reproductions up until now. Any info would be a great help. Please post examples of any other supplements. I think they are pretty neat.

Be careful. There are a lot of reproductions of this item. There were a few at the National, in fact. Though I believe the seller was representing them as repro, I'm not positive.

edited to add: I just reread your post. Are you sure this is original? I believe I've also see the image on a plate and a postcard. I always thought the larger border in the one above to be the same as the reproductions. The original wouldn't have had those. See cabinet sold in Heritage.

It looks to be fake to me... Borders look to thick. The original has thinner borders all around.

After like 35 years of collecting I looked at your scan and immediately thought it looks like a repro.

then I saw your posting where you acknowledge you've seen repros.

So I would say - be careful.

Default 1909 Pirates Supplement?

Thanks all. The reproductions I have seen were far more obvious than this one. But I have decided to steer clear of this one. If it is a fake it was well done. It has the age spots and "water damage" like its old.

Also this one is far bigger than the one Jaybird showed in the link. It's on a newspaper type of paper and going from memory now is approximately 20x30. I didn't measure it at the time.
