I like the artwork, composition of the pose and the flaming background colors on this one...always thought it would be at the top of many collector's wantlists if it had pictured a big name Hall of Famer.

I’ve always felt Barney Pelty was one of the most beautiful cards ever, not just among T206. Pelty’s fingers remind me of Catholic iconography, as in this Titian.

I have a modest group of T206s, up to about 30 now. But of those I do have this Mathewson is my favorite, and it happens to be an action pose.

I like the color, him eying a runner, and the fact that I spent part of every summer while growing up in his hometown of Factoryville, Pa. Oh, and the fact that this was my first tobacco card means something as well.
