Those are HORRIBLE enhancements. Even faker than the forgeries at Coach's Corner. Those wouldn't fool even the most ignorant novice. He will never get a fraction of what he's asking for that ball.

To say those are "masterfully enhanced by a talented artist" is the biggest hyperbole ever. My 13 tear old son could do a more convincing job. The Grove and the Collins are especially laughable. They must have originally been reeeeeally light, for the forgery "artist" not to even see what to trace over. Pathetic

I am speechless. It is bad enough the card companies are obliterating autographs on those idiotic autograph chase cards (sorry if I insulted anyone on the board, but paying highly inflated prices for cut autographs which have been damaged by the card companies makes no sense to me), but this is just awful.

I was just looking at that! He's asking $2,500 for a $250 piece... ridiculous.

There is another generic Bum figurine out there (similar to a Hummel) that's always touted as a 1955 Brooklyn Bum Statue. It usually sells for about $15.00, but I've seen it go over $200 when the description is enhanced as such. Lots of unethical sellers around these days, I'm afraid...

I think describing some of these guys as unethical is being way too kind.

OK, forget unethical.

I guess "delusional" would be giving them the benefit of the doubt.

How about "evil" or "criminal"?

How does this guy not think this is a forgery? Since when is it okay to forge something, announce that it's "art" and then think that's okay? What do you make of the rest of his inventory (he has a few Mantles) and can this item (any of his items) be reported?

Regards,
Larry

So conceivably I could purchase a 1/10 Walter Johnson single signed baseball that I was offered a few months ago for $350, go over it with a pen and then I can expect to get $2,000+ for it noting it's a work of art?

The item has been removed off eBay anyways, but I don't know how anyone thinks that this is fine and to think that they could get a reasonable offer on what I think is now totally damaged item is beyond me. His asking price was $9,999 and to think, he had four offers and didn't take any of them.
