Default Best show in the southeast?

Specifically in Fla./GA. Thoughts/suggestions. I'm in central Fla. and there isn't much around here.

Grab a cheap Allegiant flight to Chantilly at Dulles...it's a pretty good show and you can usually get airfare for $49. Must admit I am partisan to that one, but it can be heavy on autos. Looking forward to the National next year in Baltimore. Again, it isn't "south" but if you really want to go to a show, you might have to get on a plane these days.

The show is a dinosaur, sadly. Only a few smart promoters and old timers who still love the process are still doing them. It's a shame as I always enjoyed the relationships you make and surprises you unearth at a show.

For example, last Chantilly show I was able to unearth a...get this PSA 1 1978 Dave Parker. Truly, this must be one of the rarest of cards...how many people would slab a 1978 semistar in that bad of condition. It was a great expenditure of $1 and I laughed about it with several dealers.

Default The Chantilly Show .....

I guess it depends on what you collect.

I picked up two T210's for my set at the last Chantilly show.
Thank you Andy.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Anything Atlanta southward would do. Anybody have any more ideas. Atlanta would make for a nice weekend trip anyway.

I live in Jacksonville and have been very disappointed at the "shows" we've had around here.

I put quotations around the word "shows" because the few they've held here have been more about NASCAR and the NFL than about baseball. To be fair...we're an hour up the coast from Daytona and have an NFL team here, but I don't get the lack of shows here; Florida is filled with retired collectors from the Northeast and you'd think that some good stuff would come out as some of these elderly collectors begin pulling out their cards to help subsidize their golden years.

However...I still can't get over asking if a seller has "vintage baseball cards" and seeing the 1981 Topps cards come out. So if you're driving up the coast looking for a decent card show, you don't even need to stop in Jax. Even the few cards shops here aren't really worth checking out.

Default shows in atlanta area

Only show(s) I know of that are regularly in Atlanta/Marietta happen on Sunday I think once a month. I've only been once and there was a little bit vintage (not counting what I had with me in my showcases). Email about last show mentioned a new dealer or two that had vintage. Can PM you the promoter info if interested
