Who was the poor sap that got your underwear? Did he pay a premium??

Edit: For real though, awesome graphics on the box!

Great find, Kenny! You've reminded me of one of my favorite hobby memories of my dad ~ I purchased a full box of these at an antique shop back in the 1980s. I called my dad and said "Hey, I just found a full box of Babe Ruth underwear!"

Ever the skeptic, he replied "How do you know they were his?"

I told him they smelled like hot dogs, and we both had a great laugh about it for years.

I was really jazzed to get this one. Didn't show up on my normal saved eBay search. Found by just playing around.

Finally found this very scarce misspelled Tiger pin. Would love to know how many of these got out before someone caught the mistake.

Mike didn’t they pass out the Riot ones after the 84 series😁? Seriously that’s a cool pin and first I’ve heard of it.

It is funny coming from Detroit. Only other one I have ever seen was in Muchinsky’s book.

Picked up this silk off the BST board via a successful trade and just got it back from the framer. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Also picked up this big plaster plaque celebrating the 1960 Pirates. First I've ever seen. Its a big 17"x13". A bit of damage to one corner but otherwise survived in nice shape.

It was one of 7 pins in a lot on eBay. The seller probably never noticed the misspell as it’s easy to overlook if you’re not looking closely. Or maybe he didn’t know it is very scarce. Either way I got a great deal. I’ve been checking out these Tiger pins for years just looking for one. And I finally found it.

I've been getting into ticket stubs lately and just picked up this one a few days ago. Don't know why the slab has to be so massive!

Multiple item lots on eBay are often great deals!

There is a not so old Giants pennant that says “San Francsco.” Most people wouldn’t even notice.

Default cycling p/u

This c1890 Mettlach bicycle stein was a nice p/u...just came today off eBay...in my subjective opinion I think it's one of the top thee bicycle steins...I've done features on the other two, see links below...I'll disclose the three sided shot below is a different example than mine that I put together during the week prior to to get a good look at it...It's identical to mine except for the metal thumb lever is different...I prefer racing scenes but the art quality is there...I have other sports porcelain but I think this is the first traditional German beer stein I've ever owned.

It’s been well over 10 years I’ve chased after an image of the Topeka Goldsby Golden Giants and today I got one. This to me is the Honus Wagner of Kansas photos and anything else is a distant second. I couldn’t be happier and owe a big shout out to Jay Miller (oldjudge) for making it possible.

Thanks guys.

Carlton I’ll give you basically the short story. Topeka was growing quickly in 1887 with aspirations of becoming the next Chicago. Local business men hired Walt Goldsby as manager and gave him free reins to get the best players possible. Goldsby acquired several professional players, some of which had played on championship teams. The team was so good that attendance actually fell and they lost money. The team was broke up after the one season with most players returning to major league ball. Many of the players have old judge cards. They also played the future major league champs that year and beat them 2 out of 3.

I’m not sure on the photo dimensions as I don’t have it in front of me. It is a little bigger than the standard cabinet card. The photo was by Downing out of Topeka with two basic versions. Downing made a horizontal style like mine and there was a more elaborate vertical style in standard cabinet form.

I knew of both cabinets but had lost out in past auctions despite hefty bids. I was able to get my photo thanks to a thread started on the card side about what was the one card you would like to have if money was no object. The usual reply was A T206 Wagner but mine was the Topeka cabinet. A fellow board member saw my post and offered me the card. The rest as they say is history.

What makes this card so incredible to me is anything 19th century baseball from Kansas is rare. Only two photos of this team are known and none of any other 19th century Kansas minor league teams. The great player selection with so many professionals puts it over the top.

Clint
