Default How do you figure the worth of (Caramel) E series cards?

Posted By: Jeff M

This is a 2 part question.Every time you see an E series card sold,it never sells for even close to the listed price you would find in the price guide.I would like to know how everyone else goes about determining the value of E series cards. Also if these cards are as hard to find as is obvious, why are they so under valued in these price guides.I use the Standard Catalog of Baseball cards by Bob Lemke and I will also cross reference with SGC's online price guide.

The value of any given card is determined by what you or someone else is willing to pay for it. standard line and had to say it, lol. That being said, tracking various auctions is a good thing to do as annual price guides have serious lag time involved and prices are rarely current on vintage material, especially when a previously neglected area of the hobby starts to boom, such as e-cards.

A lot of times presentation has more to do with a final sales price.

I was bookmarking a Keeler E90-1 Throwing to see what they were going for and I ended up winning the thing.

Granted, it looks like the seller accidentally "trimmed" the card with his scanner. Even so, the 99 Lemke guide I have says $535 in vg.
