Default November pickups

These came at the end of October, but I never got a chance to post them....

E126 Alexander, and a T206 Stahl hidden in an eBay lot, which sure appears to be missing its red ink (regular card shown for comparison)....

Love Star Cals, I collect the movie and television ones as well whenever I run across a reasonable one. They are just a great slice of history.

Default HOF adds

I got these in the past few days and just scanned them, so I'll count them in November.

I am not a T206 Collector, but I do chase Hall of Famers. These 3 get me half way there I think....plus this includes a couple more guys I could not pass on

Desiderata

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Strive to be happy.

Added a bunch of fun cards and assorted backs for my 150-350 run. The Liebhardt has a cool color shift, and the Leifield is some kind of hand-cut scrap. I wasn't planning on keeping the Marshall, but the colors are so amazing, I had no choice.

Was very happy to pick up a bunch of T209-1's from Kevin Savage. Most are among the hardest cards in the set, so I was surprised to see them all come up at once and couldn't pass them up. Brings me to 13/16 for the set.

Awesome cards! I've been buying from the Kevin Savage Auctions site for years...they've offered some incredible vintage cards of late...

Would it be horrible to ask how much you paid for the booles card?

That's my great grand dad!

I've got one in sgc 3
Cost me an arm and a leg..

Well worth it!

Yeah, they've very hit-or-miss on the offerings, but there's been a lot of good prewar lately, and the prices are decent and the auctions never go late. And no juice. Good customer service too, in my limited experience.

I remember when you were looking for that card, and I was jealous that you found it! (But glad you did.) The auction prices are on the website so it's no secret. The Booles was $240, which was probably about right. Most T209-1s in SGC 20 have been going in the ~$150-200 range lately, but the Booles is the toughest card in the set (17 total graded SGC/PSA) so I was worried it might go for a lot more if someone else really needed it.

No reason to apologize for the Goudey Foxx. The yellow background is so hard to find that clean. Great card.

Thank you, Ronald. That means a lot coming from you - I just checked out your Goudey Set - absolutely incredible. I'm collecting the HOFs from that set in 4-6 range. Goodness, how I love a nice Goudey!

Default Cobb number 3

Finally broke down and got the Green Cobb. Now to find a Young Portrait and Red Cobb I like......

Very happy to add this guy, and at a price I was good with.

Nice pick ups Everyone!

"Buy the card, not the holder" in effect on this one. Not a wrinkle, crease or speck of paper loss.
