Default The Pancake Game - How High is Your Stack? - The Ultimate Breakfast

Without rubber bands stacks of old baseball cards tended to slip and slide a bit exposing a portion of the card beneath it in the stack.

The idea here is to stack baseball cards (your "pancakes" with poetic license) so that the first name of the bottom card is covered by the last name of the card over it. After covering it, you then flip the "pancake" so the last name of the bottom card becomes the first name of the stack and the first name of the top card becomes the last name of the stack.

I know for a fact that many of you are confused by now, but a simple demonstration should clear things up.

For example, let's start with this bottom card

Hank.jpg

And partially cover it with this one

Aaron.jpg

Flip it and then add

Judge.jpg

Flip again and then add

Judy.jpg

And flip again,

Bingo, I have just created a four card stack of

Hank Aaron Judge Judy Johnson

To play you do not have to upload images and actually stack your "pancakes", but merely post your string of names as I have above.

The winner with the tallest stack will receive a bottle of syrup.

Now here is where it gets interesting, as if you weren't interested already, as a bonus, if you can link the two ends of your stack, you will have created a "donut".

In the example only a card of Johnson Hank (not Hank Johnson) would meet the criteria for a legitimate donut.

Hank Aaron Judge Judy Johnson Hank

The largest donut created will receive a Dunkin' Donuts gift certificate, if I can find one.

Lets not bend the rules either, as I have done with the inclusion of Judge Judy, and use only baseball players please.

In looking to make my stack higher I found only one player with a first name of Johnson. He played only in 1921 for Cleveland and his name was Johnson Fry.
Unfortunately he didn't "pan" out and never had a card.

From past experience with threads of this type, I predict that Peter Spaeth will prevail, so you must beat Peter to win.
