Default Is this card the real deal or a Repro???

I have seen TPG companies grade many cards that are repros as originals.

This one looks suspect to me. Please take a look and LMK your thoughts.

Thanks!

Fred

Default 59 Fleer Williams

It is really hard to tell from the pic taken. I cant decide from the info given.

I collect this set and have several original sheets of cards from this set. I compared your pic with various cards and from the pic taken I just can't tell. My first gut reaction without looking too closely was the card was a reproduction due to the ultra sharp corners. However I considered the possibility that this card was cut from a sheet....resulting in the sharp corners.....but honestly I can't say from the info provided. Almost all the known sheets from this set are missing the Ted Signs card due to the exclusivity contract Topps had wth the Boston GM Bucky Harris.....and this card is the key card from this set. I have only seen 1 or 2 sheets with this card.....

I would like to hear the back story on where this card came from and how they managed to keep the corners so sharp. I think having more info on that issue is key....and additional pics including close ups of the suit & tie areas would be helpful.

Because of the aged looking borders I would say real. Most of the fakes have a white border.

I have never seen a high end "fake" of this card so usually if you have a real card from the set a fake really sticks out when held beside it.

What slab is it in?

There are a lot of high end 59 Fleer cards because of a large find of unopened boxes in the late 80's if I remember correctly.

Default not 100% SURE

Not positive because of pic quality but i would vote real. It looks nothing like the traditional reproduction of this card. Plenty of sharp high grade 1959 fleer cards on the market so the fact that it is nice has no bearing on my opinion of good or bad.

Default Counterfeits

The fakes have a pinkish tone and a cross hatch ( moire ?) pattern noticeable on the jackets particularly

Looks like the fake is cropped a bit tighter top and bottom as well.
