Default HOF Ballot Announced

The Hall of Fame has released its ballot for the not-so-oldtimers committee.

Out of that group I like Ted Simmons the most. He put up some amazing numbers for a catcher, but was overshadowed by Carter, Fisk and Bench. Simmons overall numbers are comparable to Carter and some might say better.

I think Miller & Steinbrenner get in..........Miller was only 2 votes shy last time.

I think the Hall of Fame is getting watered down as it is. I just don't think any of those players listed should be in the Hall of Fame. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with Tom, no players deserving from the list but Steinbrenner and quite possibly Miller and/or Gillick.............

Some very good players/choices on this list. The only ones I would vote for would be Simmons and Gillick however.

I would say that Concepcion has a shot. Not saying he belongs there but has two teammates, Bench and Perez, on the committee.

I've done this in the past ,but dont have time right now.

compare Simmons' numbers to Fisk,Bench,Carter, and Berra.
I think he's been overlooked long enough.

Also, why no love for Billy Martin?

Plus a few other infielders. I agree-he has a shot.

Couldn't agree more.

And in regards to Martin; Whitey Herzog is in the HOF with a worse winning percentage and they both won 1 World Series each. So I think a good case could be made for Billy....

Steinbrenner is a convicted felon, that has to be taken into account.
It boggles me that Marvin Miller hasn't made it in yet- he's responsible for a huge change in the game.
