Can anyone tell me if this Bob Feller autograph is authentic? I bought 20 years ago and not sure.

I have an autographed ball that Bob signed in front of me. The two signatures are very similar. I am not an expert by any means, but the two signatures look pretty close.

I have a ball signed by Feller from years ago too that was signed before my very eyes and the signatures match really well.

Unlike most of the big $$$ players who barely acknowledge your existance, Feller was very friendly, answered my questions, and even shared a few stories with me of his playing days.

One of the few GOOD experiences I have had meeting a player.

There isn't anything obvious to me that would suggest it is not authentic.

Incidentally, Feller has always been one of the easiest (and least expensive) signatures to obtain in all of baseball. One of the truly nice guys of the sport. Because of his propensity to sign thousands upon thousands of signatures, the supply is so great, that I think that there was never a huge demand to forge his signature.

I met him a few times in the late '80s and early '90s, and he was always fun to talk to...

My secretary's father lives next to Bob Feller in Gates Mills, Ohio. He just signed a bunch of balls for everyone in our office at Christmas. Your autograph looks real to me.

Eric

could soeone who responded to this send me a scan of a feller autograph that they got in person...ive noticed differences between Lee's autograph and every other Feller autograph ive seen, and ive seen alot (i talked to Lee and pointed out these differences so he knows)... so if someone,Pete,Marc or Eric could send me a scan please do,i'll be first to admit im wrong(which i honestly hope i am) but i just dont see it...the biggest differences i see between this one and EVERY other one is the "F",not one looks like this, also the way the 2nd "B" is, looks different from any others(none circle back like Lee's)....Fellers autograph has changed over the years, due to age probably, most peoples do,but his more recent autographs the "r" is different than the one in Lees scan,he writes it in regular writing(not cursive like every other letter) and on his older autographs that ive seen he started the first "b" from the bottom of the page, not top to bottom like Lees...these might sound like nitpicking or whatever, but autographs usually look the same in the first and last letters of each name and thats where i see the main differences.....please send me scans guys, thank you

John-

All of my autographs are stored in the basement of my parents house (don't actively collect them so much anymore). I will make some scans next time I visit them, though.

Thanks for all the help I am not a big autograph collector. This is the only autograph I have that I did not get in person. Once again thanks for all the help.

Lee
