In fact Reindeer Bill was a catcher, and a pretty good one too. At least his friend GC Alexander thought so. When, in 1917, the Phils needed money, at Ol' Pete's request they were both traded to the Cubs, for Pickles Dillhoefer, Mike Prendergast and $55,000. |
