Default Dalshire International Auctions

Has anyone dealt with this company before? I never heard of them before. I received an e-mail for one of their auctions and they have some big-ticket items.

I've suddenly been getting numerous emails from them also, after having never heard of them.

I just looked at their auction, and I'm very sceptical. The autographed items I looked at (the Babe Ruth balls, 1939 signed baseball first day cover, Apollo-11 signed piece, all look fake to me. Also, the companies that provide the "certificates of authenticity" don't provide any warm fuzzies either. "Forensically Examined and Certified" out of Paw Paw, WV isn't someone I trust; neither are "Autograph Certification Experts", or GFA Authentication.

Personally, I would avoid them.

Steve

Here was their recent auction:

https://dalshire.com/auction/2210?pa...eid=a51b57a459

The had this 1933 All Star Team signed baseball estimated at $300K to $350K and it sold for $11K.

https://dalshire.com/lotview/2210/11...eid=a51b57a459

Or, how about this 1927 Yankee Team signed baseball estimated at $300K to $450K that sold for $16.5K

https://dalshire.com/lotview/2210/11...n=0&perPage=20

As signed Dimaggio and Monroe ball?

https://dalshire.com/auction/2210?pa...eid=a51b57a459

Seems like everything came with a letter from GFA, whoever that is.

Or, what about a signed Cy Young cap?

https://dalshire.com/lotview/2210/11...628&perPage=20

Oh, GFA is QUITE well-known. That's not a good thing.

Just got an email from them today. I'd also like to know who is selling our contact info but I suppose anyone can get it from google or Facebook any way.

Not in my case to be certain. Info had to have been sold to them.

For the record, I have never sold or given out (for public use) any information from the bit of contact info on file. No names, emails or phone numbers, ever.

Default John House

Dalshire International apparently is owned/run by John House, who had a prior (?) auction house called "At Auction." A quick Google search on him and "At Auction" send chills down the spine -- employees told not to deposit checks, vendors not paid, etc., etc. Looks like, just maybe, Dalshire is "At Auction 2.0" and merely another vehicle for the sale of shoddy fake crap at inflated prices using buddies to leave positive reviews on legit sites like Live Auctioneers.

I didn't mean to suggest you were, but that's good to know and appreciated. Do auction houses sell client lists to eachother? My comment about FB and Google was more that I'm sure they've already sold my info to anyone that wants it. Seems I just think about something these days and an ad pops up for it.

Leon, I'm sure that nobody here would consider that anybody from the N54 board (moderators to you) EVER would have provided any information without the board members consent.

If this auction house (if you can call it that) was run by someone under a different name, then perhaps that's where the info came from.

I'd like to think that anybody who's been here long enough would already know that you wouldn't be doing that. It was certainly never my thought that you were to blame.

Insofar as unsolicited auction house emails are concerned, I don't necessarily mind them provided that it appears that the business in question is at least trying to run a fairly clean operation. If the material seems mostly forged or altered, that deeply bothers me and makes me question which businesses are sharing information with a shady outfit.

On a related note, auction house emails are fine in small numbers. If these businesses constantly flood my inbox, I consider that invasive. I simply refuse to do business with people who can't tell the difference between a tactful limit of email contact and sheer annoyance/spam. There's lots of competition out there for my money. Stuff doesn't trump all for everybody.
