Default Vintage Football Sweaters

Hi everyone,

Two questions on a lot of vintage football sweaters I just picked up. They are from the estate of William Geyer who played at Colgate and then for the Chicago Bears for a few years in the 40's.

First question - I know the C sweater is his Colgate sweater and the All East sweater is from the 1942 East-West Shrine Bowl, but I am not positive on the B sweater. He went to Bloomfield High School in NJ so that is obviously my best guess, but any chance that is some kind of Bears sweater?

Second question - Any thoughts on a value of the All-East sweater? I really only wanted the Colgate sweater and someone is already feeling buyer's remorse

Thanks!

I couldn't find any photos to confirm that it might match Bloomfield High from that era, but I believe the colors match. Their website has contact info and maybe the school newspaper might have additional info...school newspapers usually keep EVERYTHING.

Geyer was also a coach with the 1947 Bloomfield Cardinals, American Football League.

Thanks, that's a good lead for me to chase down too. The Bloomfield High yearbooks are online and they seem to have worn a variety of B sweaters in that era, including ones that match this version.

The two gold stars on the B sweater, would represent (to me) that the person lettered two times in the given sport. So, it is either a high school or college sweater.
