Default 1914 World Tour Photos ID

Hi Guys

I have a few photos from the 1914 All American tour through the West and California. I have 4 or 5 that I have been able to identify including a Ray Chapman, but these (4) have stumped me a bit. I have included the known roster as well but from what I have been told a few players came and went and joined the team etc so these guys could be anyone, but they are absolutely Major Leaguers on the 1914 World Tour. These are from the estate of George Moriarty who was on the tour.

Rhys, great photos. Can't help on the i'd but have a question. During the 1913-1914 World Tour the teams wore White Sox and Giants uniforms. I believe there was another tour at the end of 1914 that these photos may have come from. I'm sure about the 1913-1914 tour but the other tour is off the top of my head and I would have to do some checking. I'm pretty sure the White Sox did a few tours. Do you think these are from the 1913-14 World Tour or the later one?

They are from the 1914 Tour of California and Hawaii. I have access to team photos from both the "All Americans" and "All Nationals"

Here is a roster list of the All Americans that these came from but as I mentioned, I think it is incomplete, this list is from the Moriarty estate and I have not been able to confirm it anywhere else.

Ira Thomas
Jno Henry
McAvoy
George Moriarty
Duffy Lewis
Joe Bush
King Cole
Lute Boone
Jim Walsh
Ed Murphy
Wickie McAvoy
Bill James
Billy Mitchell
Ray Chapman.

Not exactly a powerhouse roster, at least the "All Nationals" had a few Hall of Famers in Grover Alexander and Max Carey on their roster.

These are the ones I have that are identified so far

Joe Bush/Wickie McAvoy (identified on back as the "newlywed battery")

Ray Chapman (smokestack in background)

King Cole (pretty sure, guy with the long face)

George Moriarty himself (Umpire in background)

I think these were taken in California because there was PCL stadium photos in the lot originally that I sold and that would make sense since most of the games that were played were in California and others in weird places like Montana etc.

Of the first 4 posted, the first one is Bill James, the last is Eddie Murphy. My computer is down right now - so I won't be able to help much more for a few days.

Thanks Mark, just typed in those two and compared and you are dead on as usual. Not bad for "off the cuff"! Only 2 left unidentified. The skinny guy looks a lot like Eddie Collins but he is not listed as being on the tour.

3rd is Luke Boon, and that's John Henry left of Joe Bush.

The guy below Bill James is probably Willie Mitchell, but I would need to see a better scan of his face to be sure.

These are really cool, however I have it on good authority that the top one with Joe Bush and Wickey McAvoy, is not Wickey McAvoy. I sent that picture to my Grandmother (his daughter). Unfortunately I don't know who it is.
