Default T100...does PSA or SGC grade these? Worth getting graded?

Posted By: Dave F

Just picked this up...not in my hands yet. Curious if either grades them and if so what value to insure shipping?

Pete,
Maybe if it's not trimmed. I'm going to send to SGC (first time ever). It does look way off center...but I guess that won't matter much with SGC?

Leon's SGC 60 looks way better.

Dave- I would venture a guess at a 50 with an outside chance of a 60, depending if there are any spider wrinkles, or other minor issues, that the scan doesn't show. These are very scarce and especially collected by type collectors. I hear the type collecting market is crashing too.....

Of course the type collecting market is crashing if I get hold of something once sought after. I may have just brought the value of your SGC 60 down to $40. Ha ha

I'm also guessing it has never been determined who the player is? If the factory that printed the card was in NY, possibly one of the NY cathers at the time? Does look like a Y on the end of his jersey.

T100's are classified as "silhouettes". I think their name is Bruce.....

Leon...I'll probably stick with T100. I better not classify anything with a word I can't pronounce.

Does anybody know the SGC or for that matter a PSA pop report for these?

Anybody able to get a SGC POP report on these?

I'm guessing PSA doesn't grade them at all...I haven't seen any POP report there.

Hey Dave,

I looked all over PSA and couldn't find it. SGC's pop report site is down, and I will check back on it tomorrow to see what I can find.

Regards,
Kyle

Thanks Kyle...Trying to work my way around the SGC site isn't that easy.

Also interesting thing last night, I tried looking up the T100 card in Lew Lipset's books and couldn't find it even listed there....anybody know why that is? Did he not consider it an issued card?

Dave,
I think SGC only has one graded right now (it's Leon's above).

Dylan...I enjoy picking up the weird card every now and then. Don't know that I got a great deal on it, but it could always be trade bait for a possible T206 purchase later down the road...I picked it up on eBay.

For what it's worth..I know this is the only baseball player from this series...are any of the other cards from the series of any value?

Like most series the baseball cards are by far the most valued. Im not familer with the other cards in the set, they may have some value, but probably significantly less then the depicted baseball card

In any set of tobacco cards the one(s) depicting baseball will almost always be more valuable, this series doesn't have any more baseball subjects and I have only seen a few of the other cards.....This is still a scarce type card and you don't see them that often...
