Richard- that's a hoot. That's like having a baseball signed on the sweet spot by George Washington.

I wrote the guy back, asking him how this was possible, specifically saying that CD's were not available commercially until 1982 and Hendrix died in 1970.
I am awaiting what I am sure will be a non existent reply .

Barry

Difficult, no doubt, but not impossible

George Washington,1935-36 (Did he sign "Vern", "Sloan" or "George"?)

George Washington, 2005

(Drafted in the 44th round, but no record. Perhaps had more difficulty crossing the Potomac to get to training camp.)

I was just using the write up for CD's on Wikipedia to pin down some type of a date. I know they were not really around in 1982.

It might actually be signed by Redding, Mitchell or Band of Gypsys members as opposed to Hendrix. Perhaps the person wasn't being the most specific. There seems to be a lot of Band of Gypsys (Billy Cox and Buddy Miles) signed material out there.

I like the seller am willing to sell signed Hendrix cds. Figure about $40 each, and you can choose from several titles.
Note! I didn't say these were signed By HendrixJust that they're signed. Probably by me, using my name, or perhaps by the kid at the record store.

Signed hendrix cd /Hendrix signed cd.. .....two different things right?

Game Show Host (John Cleese): Good evening and welcome to Stake Your Claim. First this evening we have Mr Norman Voles of Gravesend who claims he wrote all Shakespeare's works. Mr. Voles, I understand you claim that you wrote all those plays normally attributed to Shakespeare?

Voles (Michael Palin): That is correct. I wrote all his plays and my wife and I wrote his sonnets.

Host: Mr Voles, these plays are known to have been performed in the early 17th century. How old are you, Mr Voles?

Voles: 43.

Host: Well, how is it possible for you to have written plays performed over 300 years before you were born?

Voles: Ah well. This is where my claim falls to the ground.

Host: Ah!

Voles: There's no possible way of answering that argument, I'm afraid. I was only hoping you would not make that particular point, but I can see you're more than a match for me!

Host: Mr Voles, thank you very much for coming along.

Voles: My pleasure.

Maybe they're starting to put clipped signature inserts into CD's!

...or...maybe the seller is very young and he doesn't realize what a "45 record" is!

Default Hendrix

Maybe Hendrix is still alive and hiding out someplace. BTW, Elvis has been sighted a few times lately...
