Default population of T206 planks

Posted By: scott brockelman

i am beginning a study of the known population of T206 eddie plank cards and would like to ask for help from everyone for any photos, scans, auction listings, etc of ANY t206 eddie plank card they have ever seen. scans or links to photos would be most helpful as i would like to eliminate dual listings. please email me with any and all info.

the purpose is to try to narrow down the number to known population, as most are easily trackable once they appear on the market,

scott

I can start the list with two I have recently handled- the SGC-50 I just auctioned, plus a second SGC-50 that I found from an old-time collector and recently just sold to the underbidder. So there are two distinct SGC-50's.

I don't know if this helps much, but...

SGC 10 - 1
SGC 20 - 2
SGC 30 - 1
SGC 50 - 2

All with Sweet Caporal backs

PSA says that they have graded 29 of them...

but who knows how many of those were "repeat" submissions trying for a higher grade?

And, the ones in SGC slabs may also be the same ones that were once in PSA slabs.

I have a PSA 2 Plank with 350 subjects back. Will put a scan in tomorrow. I would be curious to know how many 350 subjects Planks there are out there. I would guess they make up less than 10% of the known examples, but that is basically a guess based on publically offered Planks in the last 10 years or so.

of about eight of them from auction catalogs over the past 4 or 5 years. If interested - just shoot me an e-mail.

Cheers-

hal,

that is exactly why i am trying to track down these examples, to match up grades, slabd & a photo, to eliminate some duplication. now i know this is not going to be exact, but by having as many scans of privately held cards and auction cards, i may come up with a more distinct population. i have most of the mastro, lelands, scp, etc catalogues and should be able to get those scans, but please anyone who has something i would rather have it twice than have missed it.

barry,

would you happen to have a scan of the second card?, would like it for my files.

scott

Scott: I've owned 2, both trimmed, one quite nice but badly trimmed on bottom - sold it through Mastro about 5 years ago so there is an image somewhere that I will get to you. The second one looked g to vg, but had a slightly trimmed corner. Traded that at 95 National- a little hand work on the trimmed corner might have it in a 2 or 3 holder by now. I will look for image, but I don't think I have one. I don't remember the backs, but Mastro sale probly has image of back.

Scott, I have one in my set, would you like a scan? It is rough but hey, I don't make your money. Based on Barry's auction, I would say someone got a good deal on the VG 3 Plank yesterday in Sotheby's.

Scott- I believe I still have a scan of the second Plank- when my wife gets home, I'll ask her to email it to you. She takes care of all my computer needs. I'm still living in 1910 myself. It's amazing that I can even figure out how to get onto network54. Barry

While I've had a few square ramlys over the years, it was actually Jerry Smolin who offerd the complete set a few years ago. That wasn't mine. Come to think of it, there haven't been any recently.

If you e-mail me, I now have scanned j-pegs on my computer. If anyone can give me a tip on how to post them on this board, I happy to do that too.
