Default T206 Green Cobby.....yet again

I was going to email my fraud dept contact at ebay about this again but am not sure if ole Battlefield is actually doing anything wrong, besides being a person with extremely poor (criminal to me) ethics? Should it be reported, and if so, why?

It's the closest she'll get to an honest description, but she again misses. As we know, Ebay won't do a thing.

That's the question, Dave. Should it be reported and if so, why? I think it sucks she does what she does but I am not sure this is against ebay rules?

She does say it likely would grade authentic. Unfortunately to some that may mean everything is good. Clearly she's hidden the fact that the card is altered deeply within the glowing praises of the card. Ethical- hell no!. Against Ebays rules- I doubt it

You might have her on the looks NRMINT or better as part of the item description. It could be seen as item not as described since it suggests that the card might be NRMINT or better. The appropriate title would be nice eye appeal or something like that.

Is it true that the card was never professionally graded? I have not followed these long threads on the subject but thought Battlefield's business model was to crack out cards and overstate or fail to disclose the cards prior grading, in addition to obscuring flaws through photoshop.

I wish i could put negative comments on people that put negative comments on battlefield's profile to say something like this 'buyer already saw that seller had many many negative reviews for many reasons, yet buyer still attempting to 'get a good deal' everyone just stay away, or if you buy, do not bother to complain, no one is sorry for you.

If you bid on the items seeing all those negative comments like 'STAY AWAY' , why the heck are you complaining

Yeah, that Cobb was really tempting until I saw who was selling it. It's designated as MK, but looking at the card, it's looks as clean as a whistle. Figured it would be coming back on the market sooner rather than later...

I think its funny how people like to look at historical pricing VCP as binding.

This exact same card with same seller in same type of auction sold for:

$4050 March 7
$3650 March 21
$2939 April 2
$1800 April 30

Hmmm, im going to take a wild guess the card will fall below VCP average even though its a super centered card...and will also fall below $1800.....

(the listing does say authentic now and the card was trimmed)

Correct me if i am wrong, but with this new listing, i dont think this listing is any less accurate than the average ebay seller listing., assuming no markings on it ..

Of course it's fraudulent. She knows damn well it's trimmed but is avoiding saying so with that carefully worded BS. And equally of course ebay isn't going to do a damn thing about her. Or about any other major seller. But in the meantime they will harass occasional sellers for including contact information or hinting at off ebay transactions in messages -- while major sellers have their contact information right there in their listings.

If she came outright and said it is trimmed, what do you think it is worth(what it will sell for)?

Curious to hear peoples opinions on that.

I actually don't mind this listing at all. Looks NM, if graded will come back only authentic, measures short. Aside from not specifically saying it's trimmed, she has told the truth. You will get a nice looking green cobb that will end up in a PSA A altered holder. Bid accordingly.

Unless the scan has been photo shopped and the card doesn't actually look NM.

I think it would be tough to gauge without having the card in hand. Keep in mind it's very likely a photoshopped image in addition to the trimming.

I love some of the feedback comments... "Card clearly trimmed. Horrific seller. Zero ethics. Wasn't raised well"

I'd place bets this was from someone on this board!! Wasn't raised well

These ungraded Battlefield cards do not register on VCP, do they?

Most, maybe 99% of her listings are total BS. This one at least she is clearly saying the card won't grade and measures short. Apparently after it was sold and returned 4 times. But if I were bidding on this card I would know what I was getting from the description. This is unusual from the battlefield listings I have seen in the past that are clearly designed to deceive bidders.

The negatives for the PSA graded cards disturbs me. Yes, I realize they seller is doing some nefarious stuff. HOWEVER, why are buyers leaving negatives on PSA cards!?!?!?!?!??!!?!?

This card has been sold 7 or 8 times in the last year and 3 times since April
but the one that sold on April 30 was a different card, this one has a brown
spot on his shoulder and a different cut.

If it wasn't designed to deceive someone, she would just tell the truth, that it was trimmed. That she doesn't tells me it is designed to deceive, although perhaps less so than other listings.

I think we mostly agree on this issue in general and are splitting hairs on the Cobb. I think battlefield is horrible for our hobby and should be banned from ebay. I hope no one took my comments as a defense of her business practices.

In general on any raw card listing if a seller says a card won't get a numerical grade, and measures short, I know one of two things. They know the card is trimmed, or its been submitted and came back trimmed or min size zero and can't receive a grade. This is close enough for me, and if I were still interested I would bid what I feel a nice psa A is worth.

+1 - Very deceptive but maybe not enough to get the boot from ebay. Can anyone imagine what their email inbox and ebay inbox must look like with all of their problems? I might give a few bucks just to look at those....

I would say even with a graded card someone can photoshop the colors to make it much more eye appealing. Graded or not you should not alter the photos of the product you are selling.

You can smooth over certain types of defects as well as enhance colors and eye appeal. There have been quite a few threads over the years on this.

If hundreds of negatives for intentionally deceptive listings isn't going to get her the boot on ebay, nothing else is either. As long as she offers a return, she is good.

In addition the reputation is so bad, that some buyers probably take advantage of it. "i never got the card' etc etc

At a grand if it is trimmed and not too photo-shopped it might not be a bad deal. It is a sweet looking card.
