Waaaay outta my league. But what I find interesting is that at the $175,000 level, the next eBay bidding increment is apparently a mere $100 (unless the winner's max bid just happened to be $175,100).

I believe that is eBay's highest bid increment.

Why do you say that? Straight sevens where selling for more than this last year. If anything the prices are dropping on 52 Mantles. Most likely just a minor price adjustment, but definitely real.

Cornering/manipulating the market on these won't be a cheap proposition if anyone wants to try to keep the prices high. Probably always too rich for my blood but I would not be that much of a risk taker on a card like this, even if I had the money. That's just me though.

Did the PSA 8 1952 Topps Mantle really go for only $240K ($282K with BP) at Hunt Auctions last night?

https://huntauctions.com/live/imagev...t_qual=&closed

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A PSA 3 T206 Plank went for $64,625 with BP in the same auction.

That Plank was graded PSA 3, but it looked poor for the grade IMO. .... more like a 2 in a 3 case.

I hope no one on the board got the Plank now that I've insulted it.

Even Better, it's an old 8 from before half grades, imagine resubbing it and getting the bump!
