Default Graded Card Moral and Ethical Issue

Posted By: barrysloate

I don't think I explained myself clearly. What I meant to say is any way the grading service can help us identify trimmed and altered cards is an important service. Whether the card is rejected or put in a holder marked "trimmed" is fine with me and will accomplish the same end result.

Default Graded Card Moral and Ethical Issue

understood and agreed upon.. like you, i feel that the service provided by grading companies is certainly an invaluable asset to the hobby.. i just took it a step further stating that for deeming a card as being compromised to be truly effective.. (and to further protect collectors).. slabbing in my eyes would be the superior alternative to just keeping the card raw and ambiguous.. helping to keep honest people honest..

Default Graded Card Moral and Ethical Issue

I'd be with you Mines if I believed that a single grading company's opinion at one point in time would be verified by themselves, or a second company, if the card was cracked and resubmitted. But I don't.

Edited to add:

Which of course, is the initial premise of this thread.
