Default Baseball Rarities Co.

Does any of the members have any experience dealings with "Baseball Rarities Co", (appears to be a store, does not appear to be an auction). Your comments would be appreciated! The website indicates the founder's name is Kevin Struss! They give a P.O. Box, in Laguna Beach Calif.

Default It's Kevin

It's a good friend, Kevin Struss. He has been in the hobby for a long time, is well respected and extremely knowledgable, and he and I talk on the phone often. Before I became a card junkie (and many times still) I call(ed) Kevin to bounce card and hobby stuff off of him. He started advertising on Net54baseball.com recently as he has been buying and selling some cards. He is also a collector and a valued board member. I put Kevin in the upper echelon of knowledge in the hobby and would give him my "gold stamp" of approval. best regards

Kevin Struss is as good as it gets in this hobby. He is honest, extremely knowledgeable, a hard worker, and a good friend. That's all you need to know.

Yes, I've done a few deals with Kevin. Top notch. He put up a large group on Old Judges (100+) for sale individually on the BST about two months ago.

Agree with what everyone else has said thus far. One of the most knowledgable people in the hobby.

Default Kevin Struss

Kevin is not only knowledgeable about baseball history/cards, he is an extremely polite, considerate, and fair dealer. He (and a few others) represent the gold standard by which all dealers in this hobby should be measured. I concur completely with Leon and everyone else--Kevin's a great guy.

Cheers, Mike

I second all of this. I have known and been doing deals with Kevin for probably close to twenty years. He is as good as it gets in this hobby.

Default One of the Best

Kevin has helped me significantly with my Old Judge collection. All of our deals have been easy, fair and flawless. I still need to sit down with him over a couple of beers next time I'm in Laguna Beach!

Default I am the rotten apple

I had a dispute that involved Kevin concerning an auction lot that I won from SportsCardsPlus over a dozen years ago (man, do I hold a grudge) back when he worked for them. Although I was not completely satisfied with the end result and all the hassle I was given about my desire to return some of the lot, I always felt he handled himself in a professional and courteous manner (and I believe he was just following the 'Dave Kohler' model of no returns policy). Good to see that he is still active in the business and out from the SCP yoke.

Default More raves

I bought three Old Judges from him earlier this year and can't say enough about the quality of the transaction: packaged beautifully and shipped quickly with responsive, professional customer service the whole time.
