Default my trip to Fenway

Posted By: john/z28jd

**** this was supposed to be in the thread by Joann about going to Wrigley and Busch stadium but i switched to my web browser so i could upload the picture and it ended up starting a new thread****

I was just at Fenway for the Mets 3 game series and if anyone hasnt been to that place i highly recommend you go.I was there last year for the only playoff game(its about a 5 hour ride for me) but didnt have any time to look around.Boston is a great baseball town, the people, the atmosphere hours before the game, the stadium is unreal, especially for people into the vintage aspect of baseball.Soooo much history there. At thursdays game i got to the stadium at 230 for a 7pm game and there was already a crowd of people waiting for the game and once 5pm hits the streets around the stadium turn into a party

Heres a phone camera picture from my seats on wednesday night

Default my trip to Fenway

Posted By: Ray

I'm a lifelong Sox fan and my first Fenway game was a few weeks ago, when they played the Rangers for the first game of a double header. I was there with my grandpa and my little cousin (his first game too). David Ortiz hit the game winning, three run home run in the bottom of the ninth with two strikes and two outs. Talk about "chills."

We were all walking around the ballpark hours before the game, and I kept getting that deja vu feeling of having been there before (even in parts of the park I've never seen like the bathrooms). I almost thought I had put the feeling out of my head, when my little cousin looks up at me and says, "Man, it feels like I've been here before or something."

I've been to a lot of great parks (Camden and the Jake were two of the best), but nothing compares to that park. I don't think you have to be a Sox fan to go there and get the "Field of Dreams" feel.

Default my trip to Fenway

Posted By: Lee Behrens

First of all I want to start out that Fenway is my favorite of all the baseball parks new or old. I have been to 17 different parks, World Series & Playoff games of my beloved Twins, but my favorite game I have seen in person is a regular season game between the red Sox and the Yankees, I never have had a complete experience of the stadium and 2 rivals pitted in a game where there was enough fans for and against to make each heard. Every time a "Let's Go Yankees" chat started it was drown out by the "Yankees Suck" chant.

Everytime I go there I buy 2 bags of pistacio nuts from the vendor who's family has been selling them since Fenway was open. The sausages are great, but the steak tipe are to die for. Wish I could go at least once a year.

I am going on another baseball tour this summer heading south to Texas at the end of the month (right in the heat of summer ). I will see 3 new stadiums plus the Field of Dreams and Louisville Bat factory.

Boston overall is one of my favorite cities I have visited,

Let's hope Fenway and Wrigley will be around forever,

Lee

Fenway is great, except if you are a Yankees fan. You literally take your life into your own hands being there. The fans can get especially threatening, which is what happened to my wife a few years back......not pleasant. They lost sight of the fact that it is a game.
