Someone is selling this Lucky Wright portrait on ebay right now. I've been watching it only because I've never seen a back like this before.

I'm almost sure it's another back stuck on another back. I've still never seen a back like this though.

Jaime, I love those cards with the overprinted back. With the exception of Leon's Mullaney/ Cy Young, those are the coolest backs that I've seen. Really excellent.

These are missing names. I'm not sure about Collins, the name may have been cut off, but I think there is enough room for us to see the top of the name if it had been printed. The Unglaub is completely missing.scan0045.jpg

Sean- great cards. If I am not mistaken, I used to own that exact Nodgrass, I bought it about 20 years ago as a common, then had PSA grade it (first one they ever slabbed, I had to send in a letter explaining the variation), I then sold it thru Leland's in about 1999/2000.

You may well be correct about owning the Nod. I bought it in 2005 on ebay from a dealer in Los Angeles.

Great cards everyone !!! It's always fun to look at these cards, some of the best of the best in this thread. I only have the ones I always post, nothing too dramatic, but I like to post them when I can

The O'Neil from ebay, the Nicholls from a local card shop, the oversized Waddell from the B/S/T (thanks again Ron )

Sincerely, Clayton

Not sure how this happens with a PB reverse and a SC wet transfer on the front, but I like it! Were these backs run at the same time/location?

Great cards guys.

Great WST! I used to have a card similar to that. It had a cool Piedmont back and a Sweet Caporal front, due to the wet sheet transfer. Great cards guys--I love them!

It really is neat. I also have a card from the Harris collection-PSA 9 (OC). I'd like to get something from Lionel Carter's collection as well.

Owning cards from old famous collector like Nagy, Carter or Halper is really cool. I really enjoy my Lionel Carter T206 cards.

Question: What do you call it when the front side of a card is centered perfect, and the back is not? Can't be miscut.

I refer to that as a miscut back even though in reality it's just that the front and backs are not aligned and the cards were cut based on the front.

That's interesting because 'registration' has an entirely different definition with cards. As I've heard and used, 'registration' is used to describe the alignment of the various ink layers.

I think the backs were misprinted (due to poor sheet alignment), they can be off top/bottom, side-to-side, both or upside down.
