I'm planning to be there as well. As a side note, does anyone know off hand what SGC charges for onsite grading at the show and are they capable of doing the larger "tall boy" type slabs?

Holy Washington Times, this show just got reslabbed a grade or two! Think I might have to drive up just to see these elusive hobby icons in person.

Yeap Hank. A small miracle to get Dan and I out of the house at the same time. I think I can safely speak for Dan in saying it would be our absolute pleasure if you were to come by and say hi. You are one of my fave people in the hobby to chat with. Hope you can make it!!

REA will be set up in booth 911 accepting consignments and showing off some great highlights scheduled to be part of our Spring auction. Please stop by to say hello, pick up a free catalog, or take advantage of on-the-spot cash advances just in time for the holidays. Hope to see lots of board members there!

We will also be looking for consignments for our Hershey and Parsippany auctions.

One of the big advantages we can provide you over larger auction houses, in addition to buyers actually holding your card in their hand at preview, and the excitement and competition that the live only format fosters, is the fact that we aren't looking for only $1000 or even $250 lots. If you've got a bunch of $50 T206's, or 1950's stars we will sell them individually, and that will almost always net you more money than blowing them out in a big group lot, even at the best auction houses.

If nothing else, come by and chat, I am almost always alone at my booth (710) so I don't get to socialize much!

Scott

I loved it. And the fact that it's at a casino and I can walk upstairs and blow even more money before heading to my car is a major plus in my book.

(Bizarre casino, as half the tables are some crazy card game I have never seen in Vegas or AC.)

I have been going to this Philly show since the Motor Lodge days and followed the show to Ft. Washington and then Reading and now to King of Prussia. I used to stay overnight on occasion at the Ft. Washington show because I needed 2 days to get through the whole show.

Last year's show (December 2016) was the last one that I attended. That show was really disappointing. The Friday that I was there was probably the worst Friday I've ever been to at this show. The number of dealers was significantly down from previous shows. There was a table with lounge chairs in the middle of the show where 2 or 3 tables could have been. Plus, there were tables with the dealer's name tag, but no one there. I don't know if they were bringing their cards on Saturday and/or Sunday. It seemed that there was a lot of open space where tables had been in previous shows.

I have heard that the show has gotten significantly better, so I'm really looking forward to going this Friday !!!

Default December show

In general, I think the December show has less of a turnout. People are busy with the holidays and it just seems that this show has a weaker turnout. I might skip this one.
