Default How on-time are grading companies?

I made my first ever submission to SGC of 3 post war cards. I paid for expedited service, but it's 5 days late already. Cards arrived there, that shows. A little disappointed in my first experience with this. Is this common or am I just unlucky?

I would say unlucky. I know SGC is in Philly this weekend and I think they may have been on the road last weekend as well. That said, call Earl on Monday morning and he can help you out.

As a rule, SGC is on time. When you say 5 day turn around they mean 5 working days or 1 week from the day the cards are logged in to their system.

Default All four of my submissions to SGC

were monthly specials. The returns were a touch slow, around a week past the fifteen day turnaround. I believe one submission was affected by the hurricane a while back. But for the price I am not complaining. Earl and group kept me up to speed, felt comfortable with what was going on. Give them a call if you feel you need to.

I'm dealing with the same issue with SGC. Haven't had a problem with them in the past but sent in a card with 3 day service that they received on the 18th and still hasn't been graded. I spoke with them on Friday and they said they are short staffed due to a show they are attending. I was assured the card would be graded today. We shall see.

Good to know I'm not the only one. Unfortunate it's my first submission as it colors my opinion a bit. May try PSA next time and compare. Thanks.

Got my cards. I guess I have to get a clue on how to grade cards because I thought I had a really nice card that only came back as a 50. Made my first submission to PSA today. We'll see how the service compares.

Take a look at the 50 with 10X Loupe - You will see the hairline crease/wrinkle that turned it into a 50.... Makes it very tuff to buy raw without actually having the card in hand....

I just got back my first ever submission to SGC. Cards were processed on exactly the 15th day after they received it. Whole process worked out as promised.

Now, about that new flip...
