Default T206 Near Complete Set for Sale

The Robert Edwards Catalog isn't out yet, but it looks like Robert Edwards Auctions has registered a complete set for sale in its Spring 2010 auction:

http://www.sgccardregistry.com/set.a...9&userset=4284

Looks like it has a wide range in quality, from SGC 5 to 70. Any guesses as to what it will take to walk away with this set?

I think it's interesting that they pulled/didn't include the Demmitt and O'Hara from this.

Here's a question from a lazy man.

SGC lists the complete set as 525 cards. Most sources list it as 524. What do they include that others don't?

The SGC T206 set used to include the Ty Cobb with Cobb back. It was removed from the set, but the numbering was never changed. This was actually brought to my attention this week, so we will begin to renumber the set to accurately reflect the 524 cards included. Unfortunately, this needs to be done card by card, so it will require some time.

Thank God! I thought you'd discovered something new and my 518/524 was now 518/525!

Thanks Brian.

Edited to add: Why renumber? Just note "Card #97 is no longer considered part of the T206 set."

I say between 52,500 and 71,500. Might be high with that. Overall SGC40ish.

They also have a George C. Miller (R300) set.

Seems like the "big four" has become the "big six"

I wouldn't go that far. But it seems to me REA (or the consignor) has decided that the complete set minus the big six, with Demmitt and O'Hara sold on the side, would sell more than the compete set minus the big 4, including Demmitt and O'Hara.

I agree with Barry. I would guess 60-90k.

Yes, if you enter in a card that is SGC "A" it scores it as a 5.

Default T206 SGC Set

Not including the Demmitt and O-Hara, it might not break 50k. There are less than 10 cards graded better than an SGC 60. Quite a few 30s and 40s in there. A set in this condition is a lot easier to put together.
