Default Starting a small research project; does anyone know? Arch Moore, New York Yankees

A while ago, I picked up this Arch Moore bat. I believe it is a gamer.

I did some research, and found out that he only appeared in 40 total games for the Yankees between 1964 and 1965. And then he never played in the big leagues again.
The weird thing is, his lifetime batting average is .275; but in 1965, his final year, he appeared in just 9 games but was hitting .412!!!! (but obviously not his official average, I think).

Who hits .412 and disappears from the history books?

I am not sure if he is still alive, but if anyone knows how I could contact him, I would love to ask him (if he wouldn't mind telling the story) what happened?

Does anyone know how I could write to him?
Or, perhaps if you know the reason, I would love to hear it.

I have some great bats in my collection, but this bat has been one of my favorites for a while, because I think it is an obscure gamer that must have a story behind it.

Anyone?

Here is Archie's RC, 1964 Topps, #581. Also, it looks like Arch is now living in Indiana, PA and responds to mail sent to his house.
