I can’t express how comforting it is to see a financial advisor spending big bucks on cards. Great pickup Pete!

Ha!

My question to Pete: are his index funds (if there are multiple) organized by subject (Cobb Index Fund, Wagner Index Fund) or set (T206 Index Fund, etc.)?

My new UZIT just arrived, I love fast shipping. Also picked up a Bobby The Policeman stamped Donovan. It kind of fell into my lap. I’m not a back stamp collector, it could be had.

Awesome Johnson you got there Scott.

This McGraw added recently. Not bad for a 30, albeit a little washed out visually but "different" is cool to some .

Very, very nice Pete. Great card.

I got 3 of these at the National and the Gehrig from HA. My first exhibits and only post war. My pc796 Frock was a dog with pinholes so I was to add a sharp one on an upgrade.

Great pickups Steven. I think you got the Exhibits from Don, who has one of the best offerings at the National IMO.

I had a very successful national. Was in early Wednesday and on the road home Thursday. Pulled a few large trades, made one purchase, and met and/or met up with many people I have met on this board, and it was great to put names to faces.

The first two are bucket-list items and the the third is a "no print" for my Tinker bat-off back-run.

Snagged these on Thursday. The Wagner completes the First Class for me, and I love the Colgan's Chips Wags in person; online doesn't do it justice. Really appreciate Chris & Mike for the Baker, Johnson, Lajoies, and Mathewson! Also, thanks to their section-mate Tim(?) for the ever-so-scarce Grover Hartley! And I apologize, but I forget the gentleman's name who was running the Just Collect booth (Steve maybe?), but thank you for the Wagner! Also, bought the Young from Kit Young's booth - pleasure dealing with them as well!

Default T205 Gibson

Have been a day late, or a dollar short, on this card many times over the years. When this card appeared on eBay back in May, I missed it, but was able to work with Turner after the fact. Had this card sent to my COMC mailbox, and finally had it mailed out. Have been watching the mailbox all week

So huge thanks to Turner, for helping me add this to my collection!

My T205 back run is now complete.

Thanks again Turner!

Richard.

During Gehrig's last spring training in 1939, this gentleman had his photo taken by his wife as Gehrig came out of the locker room after the game

Congrats, Richard - I know that's been in the work for some time now, and the AB is definitely the toughest in that run. Well done, and well done, Turner!

Thanks for the kind words, fellas. I still needed the PB and SC when the year started, and figured that'd be as far as I got this year, so I'm absolutely thrilled.

Mike, I wondered if posting the T205 back run would get your attention. I still have your T206 back run in the collection.

Oh, and check out this other pickup. Marty pointed the back out to me, so I had to get it. Bill Kelly's T207 also mentions Gibson on the back, so I may try to pick it up, too, but that'll be as close I get to a T207 "back run"

Cheers,

Richard.

Had a great final day (for me) at The National. Kit Young came through in the clutch on the Alexander. The McGraw was too good of a deal to pass up, too. Dropped off the Alexander along with 6 other cards at SGC as well.

Cleveland 2018, you treated me well. Thank you.

Edit: I bought what I thought was a real M101 Ray Chapman. Totally missed a few signs on it that signaled it was a reprint. Spent $25 on it. Not going to the show tomorrow, but am going to try and get a refund. Any tips would be helpful.

Made in-person National purchase of a #5 type card I've been watching online for awhile now : 1960 Darigold Farms minor league issue for the Spokane Indians. This one's their team trainer.

Nice find Spike, those #5's must be getting harder to find these days!

Default Gibson!

You know me well, Richard. Though I'm not online as much these days, Pirates - Gibson in particular still catch my eye. Glad to hear the T206 back run is still together (and am not surprised) - some of those are sneaky tough.

FWIW, I think you only need 7 of the T207's to complete that "back run" - 4 Kelly's and 3 Simons.... not such a long putt... I seem to remember one other but don't have access to all my stuff, so can't check quickly.

Good stuff, love your (and Marty's) Gibson sites as well.

Cheers,

Richard.
Couldn't help myself - had to post the T206 back run for old times' sake:

They are indeed! Only saw two other potential #5s hits at the National.

Babe Ruth Candy, both grading VG to EX, one asking $1750 and another $2250
1923-24 Tomas Gutierrez #5 Dave Brown, graded EX and asking $5000

Compared to those, $100 for Joe Liscio was easy to stomach!

My first National and my lone pickup this year. Not exactly my focus but I wanted to grab something and thought this was pretty cool.
