This one sold recently on Ebay for $30,100

eBay 1869 PECK & SNYDER RED STOCKING

This one sold by Memory Lane brought in $64,073.
Memory Lane Peck & Snyder

What is the difference and why did the Memory Lane one sell for over 2x the one on eBay?

Not many baseball cards have appeared on The Tonight Show.

I am going to take a wild guess and say that you are the seller of the one on ebay. If I am wrong, then I will stand corrected. I presume it is largely because the one sold on ebay was trimmed on the top and bottom. I'm sure the extra publicity of her card being on Leno and having Memory Lane hype it up didn't hurt either. Simply economics says that limited supply + higher demand = higher price. The higher demand was created by the publicity. Another thing is that some buyers of high end vintage cards do not consider ebay as a credible marketplace on which to buy the cards due to the higher potential for fraud. That said, if I bought a card for $22,705 and sold it for $30,100 eight months later, I don't think I would be doing a lot of complaining. Just my $0.02.

I wish I had the kind of money to be dealing in that kinda stuff. The seller wasn't me. I am smalltime and mostly modern. Very limited in my knowledge of pre-52 stuff. Which is why I am here learning.

Also the one that sold on ebay says SM after Cincinnati and the Memory Lane one says LG. Was there a large and small version of this card or what does that mean?

IMO $30K for the trimmed one that sold on eBay is as strong a price taking condition into account as the untrimmed one realized at Memory Lane.
