Matt,

Damn it, you took the words right out of my mouth there, Meat Loaf! That cop is priceless!!! What do you think was racing through his mind (at what appears to be a snail's pace) at the time the phto was taken? I'm really glad those uber-short neckties went out of fashion. They look ridiculous and always remind me of Jackie Gleason for some reason.

Acutally, I think I can answer my own question: "Moooooore brains!!!" The poor man looks zombified. Perhaps it was an involuntary reaction at having to protect Johnny Mize from the unpredictable psyche of Little Richard (look behind the cop!). A whomp-bop-a-lula-ba-lomp-bam-boom!

Johnny was my hero of the 1952 World Series. He single-handedly beat the Dodgers, by hitting 3 HR's
which won the Yankees 3 games (one as a pinch hitter). He hit another drive that Carl Furillo jumped
into the RF stands to steal a "4th HR" from Johnny. Mize was awarded the 1952 World Series MVP. He
was a great clutch hitter....and, being a power hitter, he struck out very few times.

I visited with Johnny at his home in Demorest (GA) on our way to Florida in 1987. What a great guy,
he could talk Baseball all day long. We reminisced about his years with the Yankees (1949-53).
