Default Anybody ever buy from sportslots.com?

Found a few cards I've been looking for on Sportslots. The site looks updated but out of date if that makes any sense. Anybody have any good/bad reports on the site?

It's http://www.sportlots.com/ - no s after sport.

I haven't bought anything there before though.

I definitely agree with your comment about it looking out of date.

I've purchased from there before. It was all small stuff when I was more actively collecting Justin Upton. Never had a problem.

I've had good experiences with them for post war stuff. Shipping charges are usually WAY more reasonable then eBay.

Default Sportlots

I sell a lot of post 1960 stuff on sportlots and am very happy with the site. I know a lot of the TTM autograph community use the site to obtain cards to send through the mail to athletes. A good alternative to Ebay for low priced commons and singles with no listing fees and you only pay when a card sells, with the fees getting progressively lower the more you sell. Most sellers ship super fast and items are well packaged.

I use to use the site all the time. I'll echo what others have said, I've never had a problem and shipping is usually very fast.

I bought a Joe Dimaggio snapshot from them recently. Great transactions. No problems!

I finished off a few '70s Topps sets with the help of sportlots. Conducted maybe 20 transactions and never had a problem. Definitely worth checking out.

Default interesting fee structure

Interesting fee structure. I guess there are some very high volume and lower dollar items so it's a lot of work...

Sportlots Fee Structure:

Sportlots Fixed Price Stores

Sportlots Stores bases it's fees on the amount of sales generated each month. The higher the sellers sales the lower the percentage fee there is. This is to encourage sellers to work toward increasing their sales. If sellers don't plan (or can't) generate sales above $25.00 each month, they may want to consider selling on Sportlots auctions where the fees associated with the sale of the cards isn't as great.

Here is the monthly fee schedule:

Low Amt High Amt Fee Pct.
$0.00 $4.99 75%
$5.00 $24.99 50%
$25.00 $49.99 35%
$50.00 $99.99 27%
$100.00 $199.99 23%
$200.00 $299.99 20%
$300.00 $499.99 18%
$500.00 $999.99 17%
$1000.00 $1499.99 16%
$1500.00 Above 15%

Default Good for post war

I have never bought any non modern stuff from them, but I have done a good amount of sales and purchases on the site, never a problem. Once in a while a card will have a touch more wear then it should, but it's not worth it a .18 a card :-D
