where is the best resource to learn about these cards (pre1960s) , values, demands, sets...etc

Pick up a copy of Smoke from the secondary book market (Amazon, Alibris etc). Not much in the way of prices, pop reports etc but a trove of great photos having to do with Cuban baseball in general with a good emphasis on cards.
