Default what I do

great to see so many servicemen in our community! Thank you to all!

I work for an insurance company in the 'burbs of Boston on the investments side of the house. Not nearly as exciting as everyone else's job (or so it seems).

One might argue that I have a part-time job of baseball card collecting (and occasional selling) during the day. Sometimes I wonder if my hobby/addiction will turn into something more full-time.

Ted, great car. That's as much a classic as any of the cards you post.

You say you have two of them. What years are they?

Would have retired from the Marine Corps last month but got out a handful of years ago. Wasn't sure how many more lives this cat had left in him. Got out with enough sanity to start a beautiful family and now I sell stuff to the government.

Neat, I bet a few things came up that made the job take a bit longer than expected.

Worked at Deloitte Consulting for 5 years as a business technology consultant with a focus on customer operations. Recently joined a much smaller consulting firm that specializes in implementing customer management (CRM) solutions and has a much better work-life balance.

Retired UPS Manager and Financial Advisor.

I have a part time gig as State Inspector for professional boxing, mixed martial arts and wrestling. They actually pay me to sit ringside!

That's me "inspecting" from the apron for a Showtime event.

Retired educator, retired from Naval Reserve in 1994. I now do 15-20 shows a year, setting up with my friend Coach Estes Cards Ron Estes. Hope to see everyone in Chicago at the National. We will be in the same group with Terry Brown of Chesterfield Cards. Numbers 502, 600, and 602 sound about right for the booths.

I now work as a museum archivist. Interesting compared to auction houses in that, while that the research and authentication work is similar, the museum has never sold a thing so financial value is a minor afterthought at best.

I have been an amateur beer taster with an illegal smile by night, going on thirty-five years. For the last 18 years, by day, I have been the least computer illiterate employee at a produce house of less literate computer users. "It's good to be king!".

I work in a very highly regarded field, car sales. Internet sales department, which at least gives me time to check out net54 while at work.

Nothing anymore.

My former employer, Pearson Education, decided unilaterally last year that my 40+ years of experience meant less to them than hiring two other guys to replace me (at higher salaries, I'm sure). All potential employers now look at my resume and think "too old" or "too expensive" or both. I might agree with one of those assertions.

So, bottom line, I guess I am now retired.

Default Fly for free...

I posted on the first page a few years ago, as an Air Force pilot. Now I fly for Delta Air Lines out of Atlanta, although I commute from Denver. Could be one of the longest commutes to/from work on the board!

Take Care,

Contractor for UTAS or UTC Aerospace Systems.

I'm a database admin for engine part removals. I decide weather the return on the engine part was actually warrented or not. I also prepare a montly presentation for these returns representing each Engines MTBF and MTBUR for an excutive review with Pratt & Whitney Canada.

Among that I help out component owners getting documents and files organized and charts up and running for UTC's suppliers (BOEING).

You guys have any experience with PARCC yet? Still think Pearson has everything under control?

I am a former teacher that transitioned into assessment development three years ago with CTB/Mcgraw-Hill to develop for the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium. They laid all of us off last year (slimming up to sell the company ). Now, I am editing assessments for Western Governor's University.

Last year was our first with PARCC. It went so well that OH canned it and will just use AIR next year!!

(My problem wasn't so much the test itself, it was the stupendous amount of time wasted around the test. I have actually started introducing myself as "used to be a teacher, now I'm a Test Proctor.")

I'm Director of Engineering for AMIDAC International. We manufacture exothermic and aluminothermic weld powders, thermite, graphite molds and also flash butt welders. It's a very unique industry with only 7 players in the world.

For 10 years I have worked in the library system for Yale University. My first few years all I did was read Baseball players biographies which I credit to stimulating my interest in pre-war cards, especially Ty Cobb!

I'm a property manager for a corporate housing company in NYC . I help manage different building on the the east side and chealsea . Sometimes on the west side and downtown . I enjoy it because I'm free to do what I want and get to see all the sites and sounds .
