Default 51 Bowman Mantle…. your suggestions, display ideas?

I am VERY happy to report that I just completed a really fun card journey with my first Mantle RC I just picked up today… check out one the best one’s I could ever imagine. I picked this up after liquidating a big % of my collection and I couldn’t be happier with the process and outcome!

And now, I’d love ideas what to use to be the adjacent display item to show off the beauty of the card.

I am thinking maybe a nice print of the original black and white image used for the original 51 Bowman Mantle (and I think for the ‘52 Topps as well)

Any good ideas or suggestions as alternatives?

Thx all!

(And many thanks for Paul Borges, a great guy and shop owner in RI for an experience that was a fun as this card is pretty)

Jeff

Beautiful Card Jeff. Nice display idea! Maybe include a ticket from a game he played in the 1951 Season. I've done that with a couple items.

Wow! That is one of the nicest 51 Mick 1s I've ever seen. Nicely centered, no print lines and great color/pop. Congrats! I'd get a glass box and put the photo against the back, then set the card in a display holder on the base. Ensure glass is light blocking and keep in low/no light room.

That’s a fantastic card. Congratulations! Given how nice it is, I recommend against displaying the actual card. Instead, you may want to consider buying a cheap SGC graded 51 Bowman of any other card, cracking it, and inserting a high quality scan of your card and label and using that in your display. You won’t risk any damage to your card as a result and no one will know any better.

For pairing it, I like the idea of using the original photo. That, with a nice Yankee blue matt, would look really nice. The idea of adding a ticket stub is a great idea, as is a period, cut auto (I think a facsimile would be more than acceptable for budget and safety reasons) or a more recent auto if you prefer genuine.

A MAZING CARD! Nice Job!

I'd like 1 of these 3-8 x 10's as a companion piece if I were displaying them together. These are pretty nice! I would not want to display the card and would photo copy the any signed photo of course, however.

There is also a 51 Bowman signed photo that eluded me.

Really nice scrapbook survivor. The back isn't a disaster, either. I like it.

That is a fucking gorgeous 1!!! Congrats.

It’s great that was pasted into a scrap book so it stayed so nice (except for the back). Enjoy that beauty
