Default if you could choose to collect one of the following two sets..

which one would you choose and why?

D304 vs. 1915 CJs.

Both are highly popular and really expensive to put together.

Hence, I would like to focus on only one and not both. just wanted people's opinion on the two sets.

thanks

Are you a regional collector or a national set collector? Gun to my head, I choose the 1915 CJ's. I feel that bread issue is over-priced while CJ's still have some room to grow.

No question: CJ's. D304's just aren't real attractive to me.

I love the D304's...but price is obviously an issue. If I ever get hold of one, that will be it.

Since I like more esoteric stuff I pick the D304's. The CJs sort of all have the same look....

I feel the same way Leon does about collecting, but I think the 15 CJ's have room to grow. High grade examples of commons can still be found for relatively cheap while all the D304's have skyrocketed in price. Due to price I'd go with the CJ's, but if you gave me the option of D322 Tip Top id go with it since its a little less expensive then D304 and i love the portraits.

The Cracker Jacks. As far as I'm concerned, if you've got the t206 and as few assorted E sets from the 00's,, you need to beef up on the sets that cover players from the teens and twenties.

I'm partial to the D304s. Cracker Jacks are great but are a much larger set whether 1914 or 1915. D304s have unique poses. There was a time when next to no one was interested in D304s. I paid $65 for a common (Crandall) as a type piece and sold it 10 years later for a loss.

1915 Cracker Jack, don't think twice about it!! I'm partial, but in my opinion, the nicest set out there. Keep in mind you are talking about 176 cards in contrast to (I believe) 25 cards. And for those that say the D304's are going to be more costly, quite bluntly, think you're a bit misled. Undoubtedly D304's have really taken off and will show bullets in all the price guides that so many on here take more seriously than I do. Still won't reach the values of the E145-2's. And a much broader market should you try to re-sell down the road.

E94s Remember the scene in Diner when the guys ask Boogie who is the better singer Sinatra or Mathis and he says, "Elvis Presley"? That's my feeling here, sorry for the tongue in cheek response. I collect 1915 CJs so I'll go with them.

6 votes for CJ's, 3 for d304.

I do like the d304's because of the different poses and, as leon mentioned, their esoteric feel.
