Default M101-6 Felix Mendelsohn - the missing 8 checklisted cards

Craig's post about the M101-6 Stengel got me to thinking about the checklist for this set. After comparing notes with fellow Mendelsohn collectors Peter Fishman and Richard Masson, it appears that there is a discrepancy about what the true count for this set is.

Many checklists show 108 cards for the set; others, including the Standard Catalog show 116 (the SC actually lists 123 but that is due to team variations). The additional 8 cards on the 116-card checklist have not been found by any of us and I am not sure they should continue to be considered part of the set.

The cards are:

Ping Bodie
Joe Bush
Harry Coveleskie
Buck Herzog
Dick Hoblitzell
Lee Meadows
Oscar Vitt
Honus Wagner

Has anyone owned, seen an image of, or even talked to someone who has these cards? I would love to be proven wrong and find out that these exist. There may be other cards that cannot be verified to exist, but I thought I would start with these 8.

Thanks

Chris
