The last thread was getting a bit large, and I felt the need to give a BIG thank you to Toby for the following via the BST:

The Waner is an upgrade and Wilson is No. 42 in the quest for a master set. Both have Oct. 1 backs.

So it was you Leon on that JuJu Chance. I was the underbidder and felt pretty good about my chances (no pun intended). Anyways, congrats...you don't see them too often and that looked pretty good for the grade. Sorry to cost you some extra bucks.

Looks like Cornelius McGillicuddy is smokin a J on that one...did you get it in a trade with Bob Marley?

Kidding of course...that is a great pickup, but am I the only one that sees that?

Sometimes even a blind hog finds an acorn, like when you stumble across the toughest card in the E98 set offered in the 1950's section of eBay happy.gif

Thanks Quan. You may be right about the market, but if I hadn't used the Microsoft Live Search of ALL baseball cards today for E98s instead of just using the pre-1930 eBay search I would have never have found it so I bet some guys here missed it. I believe this is the 2nd highest graded Coombs by PSA so it's a welcome addition to the red, blue and orange ones. happy.gif

Further indication of tumbling card prices is this group of T210s I picked up today on ebay for less than $20 each.

Again thank you for this Matt. I have a list, but it's tough to find some of the pictures of these to go by. Still looking for some commons, T3, J=K and a couple more.Ligett & myers, domino disc, Pinkerton, T207, Fleishmann's. I'm sure there are more.

There goes my budget all to hell, Thanks Rhett. Now add in all of the different backs and I have many to search for......OK not that many. Any place you would recommend to get pictures of the obscure cards? And the pins are cards? Have them though.

Rawn, don't try to make sense of things! I usually only add things into my database that were meant to be collected in the state they are found today, it may be arbitrary to some but it is my system.

If there is anyone else out there that would like a list of a particular players' cards, I would be happy to get them a list. My database was something that took me over a year to complete, and have thought about getting it published, as it includes the first name (and when available a middle initial) of most minor leaguers (and all major leaguers) along with the cards that each person is pictured on.

Rawn,

Excellent Carrigan UNC's. You have been busy. Good luck on the J=K. That is one tough hombre and could be a tad expensive. Love to hear about your "rough" pickups. I'll be on the lookout for you.

A thoroughly underwhelming card, but a perfect example of what happens when an Ebay seller charges $4 for shipping and then simply sticks the graded card in a standard letter envelope.

I did send him a note right before posting the card here. To be honest, the crack has no effect on me as I'm an old school bust 'em out of the holder type anyway (unless the card is valuable and I might resell it at some point in future), but I just wanted to make sure the seller knows how to properly pack cards in the future, because other buyers would care. His feedback is low, so it could be he simply didn't know any better.
