Default Dean's Dietsche

I saw this Dietsche Cobb PSA 2 on eBay (top card in photo) being sold by Dean's. As I mentioned, it has been slabbed by PSA, and, regardless of one may think of Dean's prices, there is no doubt that he is a reputable Dealer.
I own 2 Dietsche Cobb's and have seen numerous other examples. Never have I seen the spacing and font that the Dean's Dietsche has. I have just spent a few minutes looking at other Dietsche cards and cannot find another example like it. The bottom image shows the font and spacing as I have found on all Dietsche Postcards I have ever seen. I believe it to be legitimate, but I can't explain how it is so different. Can anyone explain why this would be or if they have seen others like it?

Goes down further too. When I first saw it, I thought it was postally used and someone had typed their message on it, until I realized it was the Cobb bio.

Like I said, Dean's reputation is beyond reproach. I am sure he is checking it out.

I decided to keep searching and found this guy on Mile High a few years back. Gotta say, the image isn't too convincing, but it was in a legit auction and slabbed. So maybe this is a rare back Variation after all...
I really wish psa and sgc would specify the year on these, rather than just putting "1907-1909." The copyright date and bios clearly indicate the year it was released. And they didn't even make the Cobb in '09.

Interesting find Orlando. Will follow this thread closely and will look at mine. Wish I could give you some answers. Seems like yesterday I was learning how to date them as to which year they were printed. Maybe Robert S. Could chime in as I think he did an article on them I need Old Cardboard many moons ago.

It's actually pretty easy. The 1907's (batting and fielding) have a 1907 copyright and a bio that ends by predicting that he will lead the league in batting in 1907. The 1908's have a 1908 copyright and have the same bio minus the prediction. The 1908's both are the "batting" versions, but one has "Cobb" written at the bottom between his legs and the other does not. The "cobb" version also has the back reversed with "post card" and stamp box on the left side.

These are the backs of the two 1908 variations. The "Cobb" version with the reversed back is on the left.
