Default T206: What's more important to you: Front or Back

Make your pick, can't choose both.

Front (Player)
Back (speaks for itself)

How about adding a couple more options to the poll like:

C) both but front is more important
D) both but back is more important
E) both equally important.

I voted "back" but it wasn't exactly correct. I really collect both ways but a bit swayed toward backs.

Not even a hard decision. Front by a mile. I care alot more about the player then I do about the brand of tobacco. The back to me is just an interesting side story.

I chose front also. I've just never gotten into the whole back craze. I appreciate the rarity of some of them but don't care if I own a Drum or not. I just care about the players on the front.

Thanks,

AndyH

Usually I would choose the front, but if I'm buying the card for the back ( Drum, BL 460) then the back is at least as important as the front.

Completely depends on the type of card. If a D355 Niagara Baking* card becomes available I cant imagine saying "I think I will wait until one with a better front comes along".

*insert Western Playground, Bishop Teams, Pirate, etc. here for whatever type card you are waiting to find.

I check the box which states 'depends on the card'

Default Fronts

I picked front as well. I would like to have a nice blend of backs, but some of them are just too far out of my financial hemisphere.

Trying to put the set together is enough of a challenge, and first and foremost I want to knock another player/pose off of the list. If I can find a good front back combination that is an extra plus, and a fun way (for me) to collect. I predict my biggest challenge (and most expensive) will be toward the end when I want to add those last six or seven backs.

Sincerely, Clayton

I can see arguments for both sides. When I first started out, I tried to grab backs because they are cool and why not, right? But I'm with Clayton, I'd much rather grab a player to add to the set than mess with spending multiple times what a card is worth to add a different back to my collection. However, I do like backs and will try to get a few if the price isn't outrageous.

That being said, it all depends what you are going after...if you are going for a back run or you are a type collector, then the answer is back!

I'm a baseball card collector, not a tobacco company collector

Default weighted 90-10 in favor of front

I'm way more interested in the player (HOFers mainly), and cool back is just an added bonus.

I usually go for the front first,
but sometimes the backside is my favorite.

I like a nice front. Couple a nice front with a nice back and I really like the card. I think my order is:

Nice front / nice back
Nice front / common back
Beater front / nice back
Beater front / common back
